How can you tell if a link is just a permalink? Well, on microblogging services I use a shortlink ending with /t* at the very end of the post. On long-form services you can probably tell that the title of the link is a complete post instead of just a headline by the way it's written.

Charities aren’t a problem… well most aren’t — but when it’s one of the largest chunks of your GDP you have to wonder why so much is charity? It’s an important model but its overused.

Just that reaction — we can’t shut down conversation about it just because most charitable things are super important and necessary. I would love to see more charitable orgs solving housing, for example. But not funding startups or proving technology for private corps.
