Creators affording beer is useful. The bigger problem is larger projects (like Debian) that have got all their expenses sponsored and so don't know what to spend donation money on.

The problem with Flattr for me is the monthly commitment to put in money. I'm not likely to see flattr buttons to click every month… the model seems strange
